Grinding Out Good Catches in Tough Conditions
The last couple of days have been tough, running out into a 15-20mph west wind and tides that look like we should be in late January. Trout that have been holding on the edge of sand/grass have either fell out further into the bay or are just laying there. Rather than working an area of scattered fish, we have run into no bites for 50-100 yards out of the boat, then hit 4-6 fish just as fast as you can. Followed by another 100 yards of nothing. The bait fish are still in thes

Great Day of Wadefishing
The plan came together today. Our first wade over thigh to waist deep sand pockets produced good numbers of trout. The water was chalky green and the baits that worked best were White Ice, Dirty Tequila, and Pumpkinseed. Lunch time we decided to walk knee deep flats looking for cruising reds, and after an hour or so of walking, 3 pods of 10-15 reds showed up in front of us. Gold spoons and Pumpkinseed is what we threw, but I don’t believe it really mattered! Lol Give me a ca

Grinding Out Good Stringers in Seadrift
These boys stuck it out today, from a nasty west wind boat ride, to slick calm, back to a stiff west wind. They managed to put a mix of nice trout, reds, and even a flounder in the box. First timer with the Texas Slam!
Best baits of the day are pictured below.
I know later in the week with the return of the SE winds, our fishing will improve. We have plenty of weekday opening left for June, and weekend/weekday dates available for July-September.
Give us a shout, and le

June Started Strong in Seadrift
Good way to kick off June! New customers who are taking part of our Fish N Gig package grinded it out for some nice trout and snagged a few reds out of a small pod.
Mixed in with the reds was a healthy trout, who was released to fight another day. Most fish today were caught in knee to thigh deep water in rafts of mullet throwing a variety of baits. Salt Sassy and Victorious Secret for the off colored water, and Strawberry Wine, Blue Moon, and Pumpkinssed for the trout gre

Waist Deep Wading Pays Off
Had a fun morning walking waist deep sand pockets on the hunt for big trout. We were throwing Down South Lures super models in Chicken of the C and Victorious Secret.
We released all our fish today and didn't have a fish under 20", we did see a few in the 7-8# range but could only manage a 5.5# at 25" as our biggest fish for that wade.
With trout spawning on a regular basis due to warm spring/summer time temps, these pockets of bigger trout will continue to be found. Th

Fishing's Easy as Sunday Morning in Seadrift
Something about being on the water Sunday morning. Another great wade wiith new customers. These high school boys, showed dad how to do it! Lol. That’s what it’s about - teaching the future generations.
DSL White Ice was the ticket, with a couple fish landed on Strawberry Wine. We started the day working knee deep sand pockets and followed the bait out to the waist deep line around 11:30. With light ene winds, water was clear with some areas holding a green tint, fished se

Teaching the Young Ones Right
Teaching young 13 year old Will the right way, and he was a quick learner. Geared up with Waterloo Salinity, Fins Windtamer, Down South Lures, and some Hookset Gear he managed to catch a few for dinner!
We still have some weekday openings for May-July. Fishing continues to be consistant, with fish ranging from 17-27”, many in the 18-21” range. Knee to thigh deep water.
But, if wading isn’t for you call us about sight casting reds, and enjoy a day in our back marsh chasin

Solid Day of Wading in Seadrift
From the first to the last wade, we were blessed with a solid trout bite. Knee to thigh deep, dirty to clear sand pockets with rafts of bait is how we concentrated our wades today. DSL Blue Moon and Corky Softdines got tore up. Our best bites were early till about 10:30, then 1:30-3pm. Most all our fish were between 19-23”, and unfortunately two got away that were over the 26” mark. But, there is always tomorrow.
When these boys got out on their first wade, they told me it
