Summer Fishing Hot in Lower Laguna Madre
Ana Villarreal of McAllen shows off a nice redfish caught from the Lower Laguna Madre on a recent trip with Capt Gencho Buitureira. According to Capt Gencho, fishing in the Lower Laguna Madre has been good and getting better each day. #lowerlagunamadre #texasfishingreports #saltwaterfishing #speckledtrout #redfish

June Started Strong in Seadrift
Good way to kick off June! New customers who are taking part of our Fish N Gig package grinded it out for some nice trout and snagged a few reds out of a small pod.
Mixed in with the reds was a healthy trout, who was released to fight another day. Most fish today were caught in knee to thigh deep water in rafts of mullet throwing a variety of baits. Salt Sassy and Victorious Secret for the off colored water, and Strawberry Wine, Blue Moon, and Pumpkinssed for the trout gre

Solid Day of Wading in Seadrift
From the first to the last wade, we were blessed with a solid trout bite. Knee to thigh deep, dirty to clear sand pockets with rafts of bait is how we concentrated our wades today. DSL Blue Moon and Corky Softdines got tore up. Our best bites were early till about 10:30, then 1:30-3pm. Most all our fish were between 19-23”, and unfortunately two got away that were over the 26” mark. But, there is always tomorrow.
When these boys got out on their first wade, they told me it

Lesson in Sight-Casting
With some tough winds from the south, then the north. Our wade fishing trips have been slow. Today we got to shift gears with some new folks who wanted to teach their boy how to fish. Little Kevin wasn't up for wading but we did grab his attention when we mentioned sight casting fish. Couldn't have asked for a better day, little to no boat traffic, sunny skies and light north winds. We found protection in the mangrove covered marsh of Matagorda Island. With receding north win

Windy Weather Reds
Aransas Pass guide Capt. Marvin Engel has been able to grind out good catches of redfish this week despite incredibly strong spring winds. Engel reports winds in excess of 30 miles per hour at times, limiting the available fishing spots and making moving around the bay much more difficult. However, persistence has paid off as Engel has consistently been putting his clients on reds even with the strong winds. #redfish #texassaltwaterfishing #lonestarsalt #aransaspass #portaran

Fishing on the Upswing in Seadrift
I don’t know if it was because the weather finally straightened up, or I settled down and went about my strategy the right way, but today was a complete turn around from the last 4 or 5.
Last last few days we have caught trout and a few reds, but not the big trout I target this time of year. As soon as we stepped out of the boat today we were getting bites, and we managed to find a few areas with no pressure on them. Landed several fish in the 3-5# range and a good number o

South Texas Slam - Lower Laguna Version
Had a great trip on the Lower Laguna Madre with Danny Wentz and Dennis Lala of Pure Fishing. We ended up with two South Texas Slams (redfish, trout, snook) as part of a mixed box that included a limit of reds, 6 trout and 2 snook. The super high tides have made fishing a bit more challenging in recent days, but using the FP3 corks and fishing up tight to the mangrove shorelines has proven effective. #redfish #dannywentz

Redfish Highway
You just can't give up! These boys hung in there, and the last spot of the day we found 'em. Hundreds of redfish using a gut like a highway. Good job boys! #redfish #texasfishing #texassaltwaterfishing

Galveston Inshore Action Hot
Fishing inshore around Galveston has been great for speckled trout, Spanish mackerel and some redfish mixed in along the Galveston Jetty – both north and south depending on water conditions. Live shrimp is the go-to bait right now. #redfish #texasfishing #texastroutfishing #texassaltwaterfishing #galveston

Capt. Gencho's Clients Continue to Catch Variety in Lower Laguna Madre
Clients fishing with Port Isabel guide Capt. Gencho Buitureira over the past week continued to catch an impressive variety of species in the Lower Laguna Madre. Karla Magana from Monterrey, Mexico shows off a chunky mangrove snapper. Raquel Jaime, also of Monterrey, holds up a slot-size snook. David Fritschie and Joe Garza display a pair of nice redfish. Humberto Fuentes of Monterrey, Mexico, caught plenty of black drum on his trip. The Daniel Flores group caught a mixed bag
